US Customs and Border Protection arrested a number of passengers who participated in the fight, according to the report.
The NYPD told PIX 11 the cruise was escorted into New York for an emergency docking, but Carnival Cruise Line contends that the stop was already scheduled. The Coast Guard then escorted the ship into Pier 88 near West 48th Street in Manhattan, police said. The Carnival Magic was returning from an eight-day cruise to the Caribbean with stops in Dominicana, Turks and Caicos, and a private Bahamian island.
